With the end of 2019 approaching and the festive season on our doorstep it's time to reflect on what we've been up to for the last few months in our Christmas Newsletter. QGIS live demo delivered at Place 19 conference


Our GIS analyst and geolgist Suzanne Bergman was invited to do a live demo on GIS analysis using free data and open source software at the Maori conference Place 19 in Rotorua. The demo shows how you can quickly and easily perform a landuse classification in QGIS using only free available data. Read the full story in our blog. New paper about the use of Random Forest tool in mineral potential mapping


Kenex Senior GIS Analyst Arianne Ford has just published a new paper on Practical Implementation of Random Forest-Based Mineral Potential Mapping for Porphyry Cu–Au Mineralization in the Eastern Lachlan Orogen, NSW, Australia. The study tests a number of different inputs to the Random-Forest machine learning method to see how it deals with "big data" and how the results changed with different levels of intervention from an expert. Drilling at Mt. Flora has started

Drilling has started at Duke Exploration’s Mt Flora prospect this week. The programme is off to a good start with copper and silver mineralisation intersected as predicted in the first 13 m. The Duke Directors, including Kenex Director Dr Greg Partington, visited the site earlier in the week and are positive about the results so far.
