Duke Exploration projects
Duke Exploration Limited (Duke) was formed in 2017 around 5 tenements previously targeted and acquired by Kenex using our extensive targets database and proprietary monitoring methods. The tenements are in New South Wales and Queensland and include gold, copper and cobalt prospects; all critical metals in the electric vehicle revolution that is underway.
The tenements are:
- Bundarra - prospective for porphyry associated copper-gold mineralisation
- Red Hill - prospective for porphyry copper-gold (and related skarn, epithermal and VMS)
- Prairie Creek - recent application prospective for porphyry copper-gold and epithermal gold mineralisation
Kenex have assisted Duke with initial desktop studies of their projects including data compilations, 2D and 3D geology mapping, and regional and tenement scale mineral potential mapping to target mineralisation.
Bundarra has been identified as a 'potential company maker' project for Duke. Bundarra is a highly prospective tenement containing geological evidence for several significant copper, silver and gold deposits with numerous historical high-grade copper and gold drill intersections. Initial work has involved validating historical data on the ground and completing a detailed 2D mineral potential map over the tenement area, which guided Duke to prioritise the development of their best targets. Kenex has undertaken a comprehensive review of historical work focussing on the Mt Flora, Isens, Quorn and Mt Rogers prospects, followed by 3D mapping of the mineralised veins at Mt Flora, and creation of a copper, silver and gold block model. This has allowed a JORC compliant Exploration Target to be defined, with 100,000 to 150,000 tonnes of copper at a grade range of 0.5-1.0% Cu; 5 to 9 million ounces of silver at a grade range of 9-13 g/t Ag; and 10,000 to 120,000 ounces of gold at a grade range of 0.1-0.2 g/t Au.
Kenex are helping Duke develop their Mt Flora Prospect in their Bundarra Project providing services including drill planning, core logging and management of the latest drill program on site, downhole data logging and drill database management.
Recent diamond drilling by Duke has intersected the lodes very close to the predicted locations and reported preliminary copper grades consistent with the historical results. Read more in the links at the top of the page. These will be updated with the latest news as the project progresses.
